CORNER HOUSEWrightington, Lancashire
The name “Corner House” came into being after owner-managers Ross Lawson and Helen Hunter took over the restaurant and gave it a much needed facelift in June 2012. The historic building is located in a semi-rural setting just a short drive from Junction 27 (Standish) on the M6 and dates back to the 1830’s. It has been a hostelry, wheelwrights, blacksmiths, and now of course, a very popular restaurant.
All dishes are freshly prepared by Head Chef Ross Lawson and his talented kitchen team, who only use the finest ingredients from the best local suppliers. As only the best produce of the season is used, menus change frequently to reflect the availability of fresh ingredients at their best.
WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
Came here for a lovely meal with a couple of friends on Tuesday afternoon. Brilliant food with even better service, especially from the waitress, called Lois who attended my needs all afternoon. Would truly recommend a visit. 5 stars!!!
14 of us just visited for my Gran’s 82nd birthday. And it was superb. I had the pork and the bakewell tart which were both excellent. Everyone else enjoyed their meals too. Bev was our waitress and she was lovely and made sure we were all happy and had everything we wanted.
WOW – AMAZING
Well what can I say, a truly amazing dining experience, first class food, freshly prepared from scratch, tasty and extremely well presented, great choice of food and drinks.
We were lucky enough to visit this establishment last night and all four of us were treated to one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. The food was sublime, service both attentive and sociable and all at a reasonable price.
